Let customers speak for us
Massive thank you and so much gratitude to you and your mum for putting together this masterpiece, thank you.
I think I’ve expressed in the past how much I love and appreciate your wonderful cookbook. We left NZ 5+ yrs ago, and your cookbook allowed me to make the home comfort food that we didn’t have the luxury of being at home for, as well as ensuring that my two boys could experience the home food that I grew up with.
Just wanted to share some added appreciation……I lost my beloved grandmother earlier this year, and like all Indian grandmothers, she loved to cook. We never left her house hungry or empty-handed! Thanks to your book, I have been able to make some of the food that reminds me of Ba and find a means of connection to her. Just last week I made seekhan and khaja puri for Janmasthami – one of my Ba’s favourites. It means the world to me that something I would never have thought of to make, you made accessible and possible through your cookbook. I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to connect with Ba in this way.

A Gujarati Language of Love
"Like many first-generation families growing up in New Zealand, our language of love was not in a verbal language of "I Love You", not in a physical language of hugs, but in a language that they were shown by their parents, which they passed on to the next generation. The Indian Language of Love: Food"
Christchurch Indian cookbook preserves family recipes
Jayshri Ganda came up with the idea of publishing a cookbook of her mum Laxmi's recipes, as a way of documenting what has been passed down from one generation to the next, so that's what they did.
I wanted to congratulate you and your mum for publishing such a beautiful cookbook and with wonderful recipes in it. I grew up among Gujarati families so these food are bit of nostalgic for me. I also wanted to thank you both for making the price and shipping affordable. Thank you so much.
